Breaking News: Yankees interested in big name players!

ESPN is exclusively reporting that Yankees have an interest in both Cliff Lee and Carl Crawford. If you aren't as excited as I am its probably because you are a common baseball fan and your common sense tells you this in fact is not breaking news. Good job give yourself 1 point and something to put on your resume if you apply to ESPN as a writer.

I have my own breaking news, this site called WikiLeaks is letting out confidential information about governments! No? So if I cant get away with it how come the idiots at ESPN can?

The kicker to this breaking story is the ending to it..."the most likely scenario would be for the Yankees to trade Granderson or Swisher to make room for Crawford and move Gardner to CF. However, 2 sources close to Crawford told ESPNLA.com that they expect the OF to eventually sign with the Angels"

Say the first thing that comes to mind when reading that gem...."WTF"?!? I wonder about the editor asking his reporter to get him something really juicy and secret so everyone knows nobody screws with ESPN. Reporter comes back after a hards day of work and says "I GOT IT...YANKEES WANT LEE!" Holy crap you just blew the lid right off the winter meetings cap my man, expect a promotion in the near future.

Wow sounds like there is an east coast/west coast battle of the ESPNs! NY says Yankees going after Crawford and LA saying its pretty much done with the Angels. So let me figure this out for you if you are likely confused. Yankees most likely scenario is if they unlikely get Crawford. Other rumor is that if Yankees can trade for Joe Mauer, they will likely move Posada to DH. I am no insider but I am pretty sure that the statement I just made was accurate, seriously who wouldnt want Mauer and of course he'd shove posada aside like Wilfork did to the Jets O-Line (yes im still not over it)

The amazing part about all this is that the article explains how the Yankees are making room for 2 big names in their payroll. How the hell are they doing that? I didn't see anybody dropped from the roster and no big salary got traded so please enlighten me ESPN as to how they actually cut the payroll down to afford $40 million a year in salary.

THAT would be breaking news!
